Titel: COM Express Platform with Low Voltage Core 2 Duo Date: 08.02.2007
The powerful COM Express-Module CXB-CD945 is now available from MSC Vertriebs GmbH also featuring the power-saving Low-Voltage-Processor Intel® Core 2™ Duo L7400 (Merom). The two CPU cores use a 4 MB level-2 cache and provide data transfers at 667 MHz over the front-side bus. The Thermal Design Power (TDPmax) generates only 17W at 1.5 GHz, which is almost half of the power consumed by the Merom processor T7400.

Thanks to the Intel® 64-Technology, this high-end module offers the flexibility to process both 64bit, as well as 32bit commands. Thus, the board is predestined for use in embedded applications requiring high computing power and achieves optimal performance using also the new Microsoft Vista operating system. RAM can be extended up to a capacity of 2GB by inserting a fast DDR2 module.

The COM Express-System CXB-CD945 comes with innovative security functions that prevent unauthorized manipulation, misuse, or illegal copying of data and software. In addition to the “TrustedCore”-BIOS from Phoenix Technologies, the TPM 1.2-Chip (Trusted Platform Module) by Infineon has been implemented on the module.

The module, based on the Mobile Intel®-Chipset 945GME, offers a wide selection of interfaces and expansion capabilities. Aside from a PCI Express™ x16-interface und four PCI-Express™ x1-interfaces, eight USB 2.0 ports are available for communication with peripheral equipment. Through an optional Intel® 82573 GBit LAN-Controller, a fast 10 / 100 / 1000 Base TX-LAN-network connection can be established. Large data volumes can be stored using the two SATA II-connections transfer rates up to 300MB/s. ACPI battery management and a watchdog timer are also implemented on the COM Express module.
