Titel: COM Express-Family with Dual Channel Memory Support Date: 04.04.2007
Stutensee - MSC Vertriebs GmbH has increased the graphic performance of their COM Express-Platform CXE even more through the support of the Dual Channel memory technology. The main memory on the COM Express module CXE-CD945 can be expanded up to a maximum capacity of 4 GB by inserting 2 equivalent sized DDR2 SDRAMs in both 200 pin SO-DIMM sockets. This makes the board especially suitable for high-end industrial applications, such as for use in image processing and medical systems, as well as for game applications.

With the introduction of the CXE-CD945 module, MSC expands their portfolio of powerful COM Express components based on the extended form factor of 155mm x 110 mm. Depending on the requirement, the processor on the board can be selected to be an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7400 (1,5 GHz), an Intel® Core™ Duo L2400 (1,66 GHz), or even the Intel® Celeron™ M 440 (1,86 GHz). Other versions are available upon request. Thanks to the Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which is already integrated in the Mobile Intel®-Chipsatzes 945GM(E), the module offers excellent 3D graphic capabilities.

As with all new COM Express modules at MSC, the CXE-CD945 module comes with innovative security functions that can inhibit copying, modification, or cloning of the customer's own know-how. This provides a secure protection of customer IP through digital signature of the hardware and software using the „TrustedCore“-BIOS from Phoenix Technologies and TPM technology (Trusted Platform Module) from Infineon.

Beside a PCI 2.3-Bus-Interface, four PCI-Express™ x1 interfaces are available on the COM Express module for high-speed data transfer. Altogether eight USB 2.0 ports allow a flexible connection of various peripherals. Fast Ethernet network connectivity is provided through an Intel® 82573 GBit LAN controller. Storage of large data volumes is possible over two SATA II connections with up to 300MB/s or through an enhanced IDE port.

To aid in evaluation and design-in, MSC provides baseboards and development motherboards. The operating systems Windows™ XP, VISTA and Linux are supported.
