COM Express Platform for Fast Graphic Applications

Stutensee - More computing power and a further improved graphic performance is available from the brand new Intel chipset 82965GME based COM Express module family CXE-C2D965 from MSC Vertriebs GmbH. The COM Express™ Type 2 corresponding platform can be equipped with both the processors Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7500 operating at 1,6 GHz respectively with the Intel® Celeron™ M 550 (2,0 GHz). Memory is available through two 200pin SO-DIMM sockets for a capacity up to 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM. The COM Express modules support the Dual-Channel memory technology, which guarantees a high data transfer rate specifically in graphic applications. The Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator GMA X3100 integrated in the 965GME chipset provides an up-to-now unachieved embedded graphic performance, from which especially industrial high-end applications could profit. Two displays can be connected via the two independent LVDS graphic channels. The maximum resolution lies at 2048 x 1536 pixels. |

A series of standard connections and expansion possibilities give the COM Express platform CXE-C2D965 a high level of flexibility. Beside six PCI Express™ lanes and a PCI-Interface, 8 x USB 2.0 and a high-definition audio interface are available. Through the Intel® 82566 Gbit LAN controller located on the module, a fast Ethernet network connection can be established. In order to store large amounts of data, three SATA interfaces with up to 300 MB/s and an enhanced IDE port stand at your disposal. The COM Express module CXE-C2D965 stands out through modern security functions that securely protect the intellectual property (IP) of the customer. For this purpose, the TPM 1.2 SLB 9635 (Trusted Platform Module) from Infineon was integrated on the module and the „TrustedCore“-BIOS with security extensions from Phoenix Technologies was implemented. As on all COM Express platforms from MSC, additional functions are also implemented on the 155 x 110 mm sized CXE-C2D965, such as ACPI power management with Suspend-to-RAM support, a watchdog, an easy-to-use display setup with EPI.org support and system monitoring. The specified operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 °C. For evaluation and design-in of the COM Express platforms, baseboards and development motherboards are available from MSC. The operating system Windows XP™ (embedded) is supported. Upon request, starter kits for Linux can be provided.
