Titel: COM Express platform with five PCI Express™ interfaces Date: 12.06.2008
Stutensee, Germany - MSC Vertriebs GmbH’s powerful COM Express module family CXB-CD9455 has five PCI Express™ x 1 lane and is, therefore, particularly suitable for data intensive applications, e.g. in the fields of image processing and automation. The number of channels is very important with PCI Express, because this technology is a serial point-to-point connection in contrast to the parallel transmission bus PCI.

With the modular CXB-CD9455 platform, MSC expands its wide portfolio of innovative COM Express products, including the popular CXB-CD945 family, based on the basic form factor of 125 mm x 95 mm. MSC offers the CXB-CD9455 module with Intel® Celeron™ M 440 (1.86 GHz) or Intel® Core™ Duo L2400 (1.66 GHz). Further processors like Intel® Core™ 2 Duo L7400 (1.50 GHz) or Intel® Core™ Duo U2500 (1.20 GHz) are available on request.

Eight USB 2.0 ports enable flexible connection of different peripherals to the COM Express module. A fast Gigabit Ethernet network connection can be established via an Intel® 82573E GBit LAN Controller. Two SATA II connections with up to 300 MB/s and an Enhanced IDE port are available for data storage.

The system memory can be expanded up to a maximal capacity of 2 GB. Due to the Graphics Media Accelerator 950 integrated in the Intel® 82945GME chipset the module offers excellent 3D graphics performance. Dual independent displays are supported, the maximum CRT resolution is 2048 x 1536 pixels.

As with all new MSC COM Express modules, the CXB-CD9455 board comes with special security functions according the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) that can inhibit copying and modification of the customer's own know-how. For this purpose, the „TrustedCore“-BIOS from Phoenix Technologies was implemented and furthermore the Trusted Platform Module TPM 1.2 SLB 9635 from Infineon integrated on the platform.

The COM Express™ platform runs under the operating systems Windows® XP (embedded) and Linux (OSADL). For evaluation and development support, MSC provides a baseboard with all interfaces of a standard PC.
