The AT89C51CC03 Microcontroller Is Qualified in Automotive GradeAtmel has released to production the AT89C51CC03 in full automotive grade. This device is perfectly suited for in-car networking and has been qualified to the most stringent automotive environments, according to the requirements of the ISO-TS-16949 standard. The AT89C51CC03 has been successfully submitted to the endurance and environmental tests as per AEC-Q100 requirements. The functional and parametric characteristics are specified to operate in the -40°C to +125°C temperature range, with power supply from 3.0V to 5.5V. This 8051 microcontroller features a full set of common peripherals including on-board analog to digital converter for the control of sensors and actuators usually found in automotive environment. To communicate with other microcontroller units, it offers a series of serial communication ports like CAN, UART or SPI. Dedicated to Automotive and Industrial applications, it supports CAN V2.0A and V2.0B with 15 message objects at a baud rate of 1Mbps while its UART can be easily configured to form a Master or Slave LIN node. The device can be programmed once installed in the system via the pre-programmed CAN or UART boot-loader. On-chip Brown-Out detector provides high degree of voltage protection, preventing the application from writing into the application code. Fault protection is provided by one internal Watchdog system. The embedded Flash and EEPROM memories allow very dense hardware configuration with no need for external storage elements, thus reducing overall application cost and development time. The non-volatile technology used for the manufacturing of the AT89C51CC03 allows retention time in excess of 10 years at +125°C. The endurance of the EEPROM has been restrictively set at 100K cycles in the worst case conditions. Main Features 64KB Flash Program Memory + 2KB Flash Boot-loader 2KB EEPROM data Memory 256-byte of On-chip RAM + 2048-byte of On-chip ERAM 14-source 4-level Interrupt Peripheral Features: − Full CAN Controller (V2.0A and 2.0B) · 15 Message Objects · Supports Time Triggered Communication − Full Duplex UART (Supports LIN Communication Controller) − Three 16-bit Timers/Counters − 5-Channel 16-bit PCA with PWM and Time & Edge Capture − 8-multiplexed 10-bit ADC inputs − SPI Interface (VQFP64 only) − 32 + 4 Digital I/O Lines − 27-bit Programmable Watchdog Timer Low Power Consumption − 500 µA in Power-down − 45 mA absolute max. at f=60 MHz, 5.5V. Competition The Atmel AT89C51CC03 is based on the well-known and established 8051 architecture. Therefore, it is an easy path for customers familiar with this family. The device can be programmed in-situ via the CAN or UART data port. It contains 64 Kbytes of Flash ROM and provides CAN or UART boot-loader.
