Full ICE-functionality at affordable price

Closing the gap between the high-end ICE and the low-cost evaluation boards running a remote debugger MSC now offers a new compact emulator for M16C and M32C series from Renesas that can offer full functionality that is needed for hardware and software development, such as real-time trace and hardware breakpoints. The emulator main unit comes in a significantly reduced size, compared with conventional emulator systems. The product package includes not only an emulator main unit and target connectors but also the new IDE HEW4 including an evaluation version of M3T-NC30WA C-compiler, Assembler and Linker. The evaluation license offers full functions for a 60 days trial time, then limited to 64k Linker output. The compact emulator can be connected to the user system by equipping with a converter board for the target MCU. MSC also provides a set package that include the compact emulator and a converter board for the device and package you need.

• M16C series: 20MHz (at 3.0 to 5.0V), 10MHz (at 2.7 to 3.0V), single chip mode
• M32C series: 32MHz (at 4.2 to 5.5V), 24MHz (at 3.0 to 5.5V), single chip and external mode

MSC is shipping the Compact Emulator packages with a free version of the new HEW4 IDE, ready for system development and debugging the minute they reach the user, bundling cross tools for immediate connection and all necessary cables to the target system.
