Stutensee - Once more Gleichmann Electronics and NEC Electronics Europe have strengthened their successful cooperation by enlarging the franchise to include the ERTEC-product group. The ERTEC-products (Enhanced Real Time Ethernet Controller) are based on ARM9-core with cache and integrate an enhanced Ethernet-Switch featuring the “Isochronous-Mode”. This mode is required to provide the highest level of Real-Time requirements within the PROFINET-protocol. These products also support all other PROFINET-definitions including the requirements for Real Time operation.

The next device in the family, the ERTEC 200, will be released end of April. This is similar to the ERTEC400, but with the PCI-interface removed and only two Ethernet-Ports with integrated PHYs in order to be able to realize small and cost-effective solutions for interfacing to the PROFINET-standard. Target applications are motor-drives.
