It includes a full project manager, editor, debugger and a comprehensive MCU simulator. It also integrates a configuration wizard, which speeds the generation of start-up code and configuration files. The build-in microcontroller simulator can model more than 50 ARM-processor based MCU devices, including their instruction set, on-chip peripherals, and the external signals to stimulate them. The compilers generate optimized code for both the 32-bit ARM and 16-bit Thumb® instruction sets and support full ISO standard C and C++. This kit is especially targeted at the expanding ARM MCU market. The µVision3 Debugger provides in addition to the peripheral simulation also code coverage statistics of the program execution. To connect to a real ARM device there is the low-cost ULINK USB-JTAG adapter available. This is a valuable alternative to the ARM Multi-ICE or RealView-ICE products. A free evaluation CD-ROM is available from MSC. The recent RealView Developer Suite products are further available for high end applications and ASIC developers.
