Gleichmann Electronics presents new Optocoupler series from NEC Electronics

Stutensee, Germany, September 26, 2007 - Gleichmann Electronics announces the immediate availability of NEC Electronics’ new PS9552 series of optocouplers. The PS9552 series features up to 2,5 A output current, the transfer of data of up to 1 Mbit/s speed, 5000 Vrms isolation voltage, >0.4 mm isolation distance, >8 mm outer creepage distance and a minimum common mode ratio (CMR) of 15KV/ìs.

The PS9552 series is designed for a fast and, above all, safe direct drive of IGBT and MOSFET gates. The devices consist of an optically coupled isolator with a gallium aluminum arsenide (GaAlAs) light-emitting diode (LED) and a high voltage / high current circuit. An operating voltage of 15 to 30 V as well as an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +100°C, makes the PS9552 series suitable for use in a wide range of applications such as AC or DC motor drivers, frequency converters, uninterruptible power supplies, induction furnaces, etc.

The devices, which are fully RoHS-compliant and use nickel-palladium-gold as lead-free pin plating material, are available in different package options either for through-hole or surface mount. Current international safety certificates such as UL and VDE are available or have been applied for. The PS9552L2-AX version of the optocoupler is compatible with HCNW-3120.
