ATMEL®’s AVR® AT90PWM microcontrollers are able to manage all the necessary functions in lighting ballast or motor control applications, including the Power Factor Correction (PFC), the lamp power and the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) protocol, thus reducing components count and BOM.
To satisfy the increasing memory requirements in complex control and serial communication for lighting applications and motor control applications, Atmel introduces the AVR AT90PWM216 and AT90PWM316 microcontrollers, with extended 16-Kbyte Flash program memory and 1024-byte RAM.

The AT90PWM216 has 7-channel advanced PWM, 8-channel 10-bit ADC, two 12-bit High Speed PSC (Power Stage Controllers) with 4-bit Resolution Enhancement and DALI protocol support.
The AT90PWM316 has 10-channel advanced PWM, 11-channel 10-bit ADC, a 10-bit DAC, three 12-bit High Speed PSC (Power Stage Controllers) with 4-bit Resolution Enhancement and DALI protocol support.
