Omron’s New Relay Family G5RL

Omron_G5RLMSC Vertriebs GmbH offers from today onwards a new power relay designed specifically to control high inrush currents to fluorescent or incandescent lamps.
These can be found in emergency lighting systems and appliance control applications. Omron’s relay family G5RL is perfectly suited for home appliances, building control devices such as lighting circuits, and HVAC equipment like heating and ventilation control systems.

Designated the G5RL-LN, as Omron’s new ‘silent’ relay conforms to an industry standard footprint of G2R/G2RL. Offered in a SPST-NO form and a Flux protective construction, the relay is just 15.7 mm high, and can switch up to 12 Amperes at 250 Volts. A high capacity version can handle up to 16 Amperes. Coil power consumption is 530 Milliwatts, and coil voltage can be 5, 12 or 24 Volts direct current.

Omron also recently introduced the G5RL-HR - a relay specifically designed for loads such as fluorescent tubes or incandescent lamps characterised by high inrush currents. Packaged in the standard G5RL case, this device can handle currents of up to 100 Amperes.

The base material of the relay series is gold alloy which supports a long life expectancy and high contact reliability.

All G5RL relays are fully RoHS compliant and conform to applicable EN, UL and CSA standards.
