Driving digital Hitachi displays via DVI-D or VGA

Issue 8/08

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
the MSC-Vertriebs GmbH would like to show you a simple and reasonable solution, how to drive your Hitachi TFT with analogue VGA or digital DVI signals, with usage of only a few components.

For conversion of the source signal we recommend the interface controller CRTtoLCD6 from Kontron. The only additional part, except  standard cables, is the adapter board ADA-MSC-FFC40-32. With this you are able to drive almost every medium sized Hitachi TFT.

HIT_CRTtoLCD -> Hit TFT

Benefits:

  • Driving with every VGA or DVI-D source (e.g. PC)
  • Connection to almost every medium sized Hitachi TFT
  • Perfect scaling of visual content
  • Support of scan direction
  • Few components and easy setup
  • Powerful adjustment like brightness, contrast and color temperature via OSD
  • First class customer support
  • Low expenditure
  • All needed components from one distributor

You will find a description of the adapter board ADA-MSC-FFC-32 with a list of compatible displays, as well as an overview of the kit components here for download [<300kB].

The datasheet of the Kontron interface controller CRTtoLCD6 is here available [<165kB].
