AT91SAM 32 bit ARM® RISC MCUs

ATSAM9M10/M11/G45: 400 MHz ARM926EJ with HS USB, TFT Controller and DDR2 Interface

Atmel

arm_powered25

The AT91SAM9M11/M10/G45 microcontroller-based system-on-chip product family embeds a 440 MIPS ARM926EJ-S-based processor. These three members differ in crypto peripherals (M11 only) and Video Decoder (M10, M11 only).

Its parallel bus architecture incorporating distributed DMA overcomes the bottlenecks that occur with conventional ARM9-based MCUs in graphically-interfaced, data-intensive applications such as networked medical monitoring equipment and GPS navigation systems. The AT91SAM9M10/M11/G45 products employs up to 28 DMA channels including Atmel’s 20-channel peripheral DMA controller (PDC), a 12-layer bus matrix, and two additional busses for data- and instruction-tightly-coupled-memories (TCMs) to boost CPU performance and provide on-chip data transfer rates.
Two external bus interfaces (EBIs) support external memories like 16-bit DDR2/LP-DRR 133 MHz, 32-bit SDRAM/LPSDR, NAND with ECC and static memories and decouple program-memory from LCD frame buffer accesses. This can increase available CPU MIPS by 20% to 40%.

On-chip human interface peripherals include a camera interface, TFT/STN LCD controller, a 6-channel audio front-end interface (AC97), I2S and a Video Decoder (M10,M11 only), that off-loads MPEG2,MPEG4,H.263, H.264, VC1, JPEG decoding from the CPU, including image scaling, colour conversion, picture in picture and rotation features.
Networking peripherals include a 480 Mbps High Speed USB host and device, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC. There are also four USARTs, two 50 Mbps serial peripheral interfaces (SPI), CompactFlash, High Speed SDIO (MCI) and two two-wire interface (TWI) which can be connected to external wired and wireless communication modules like GPRS modem and Wi-Fi.
SAM9M11 offers Crypto Engines for SHA (DMA), AES, TDES (DMA) and 32-bit random generator.

Free built-in Flash programmer:

All SAM7, SAM3 and SAM9 MCUs integrate the ability to program whole Flash and associated Security/Lockbits without any additional hardware tools via USB or UART.

You can get the free appropriate Windows® program SAM-BA from www.atmel.com.
