Development Software

Complete 'ready to go' package of development software:

  • Renesas HEW4 High-Performance Embedded Workshop
  • Renesas NC30 and NC100 C-compiler for all R8C, M16C and R32C derivatives
(60 day full version, then 64k code size limit)
  • IAR Embedded Workbench with 16k code size limited version of the IAR M16C/R32C C/EC++ compiler
  • Code generator "MakeApp"
  • Free tools for Flash download via USB and RS232

Generic examples in source code for Renesas, IAR and GNU compilers:

  • UART usage
  • FRAM access via I²C
  • LCD and encoder-switch usage
  • In-application programming of on-chip Flash (VEEPROM)
  • A/D conversion using LDR and potentiometer inputs
  • Incremental encoder usage
  • SD-Card interface

Device specific examples:

  • USB interface (M16C/6C)
  • Firmware for HID class using standard windows drivers (M16C/6C)
  • Vendor specific requests using the generic Thesycon USB host driver with Test-GUI (M16C/6C)
  • CAN interface (M16C/29, M16C/6NK, R32C/118)
  • CAN monitor and CAN generator

CANopenPort

The CANopen Library provides all required services for a CANopen compliant communication according to the communication profile DS-301 V 4.x. It facilitates easy and fast development of master and slave devices and is able to serve one or multiple CAN-Controller in one device. The CANopen Library is available in different expansion stages (Slave Small, Slave, Master/Slave). The functional range can be extended by additional modules (e.g. LSS, Redundancy, Flying Master, CANopen safety). Access to the hardware is carried out via a defined driver interface, which is available with and without operating system.

USBThesycon

VUFIL is a generic USB firmware library. It controls the USB function of a microcontroller and provides a programming interface (API) that is convenient to use. The handling of USB standard requests is covered completely by the library.

IAR Logo_klein

IAR Embedded Workbench provides full support for devices in M16C and R8C series respectively in the R32C series and generates very compact and efficient code. Built-in plugins to different hardware debug systems and RTOSes are included in the standard edition.
