Lattice Lead-Free Information
Lead-Free Information for Lattice Products
Due to increased worldwide environmental concerns, the need for lead-free solutions in electronic components and systems is receiving increased attention within the semiconductor and electronics industries. Lattice is fully supportive of the various industry efforts throughout the world to phase out the use of lead and other undesirable elements from electronic equipment materials and manufacturing processes. Lattice has qualified a wide variety of package types in lead-free configurations.
Lattice's lead-free products are fully RoHS compliant, meeting the European Parliament Directive entitled "Restrictions on the use Of Hazardous Substances" (RoHS). This directive prohibits the use of the following elements in electrical/ electronic equipment sold after July/1/2006: cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).
Device Identification
To identify lead-free products Lattice adds a "N" to the
ordering part number. Please reference appropriate datasheet for valid ordering
part number and package combinations. This means, there are two different part
numbers to clearly identify leaded and lead-free products. The lead-free
ordering part number is also marked on the topside of the device.
Availability
Lattice distinguishes three groups of lead-free devices. All focus products are
available in lead-free packaging. There is of course no price adder to this
products. To support older boards that are still manufactured, important older
products are also available in lead-free package options. Here there will be a
minor price adder. For all devices that are not available as standard lead-free,
Lattice can support you with a customer specific option on request.
