How Important Is the Environment to You?

A multitude of green ideas have been realized in the past few years due to steadily increasing technological progress and innovations. That is why there is plenty of room for improvement!

Particularly important questions which are of great importance are:

• Is our environment important enough to invest more in environmentally friendly solutions?
• Have you ever thought about environmental protection when making your decisions?

Already existing regulations, such as the blue angel or the CE certification are intended to protect our environment from harmful and dangerous influences. In the directive 245/2009 the European commission specified the basic conditions and determined the framework for replacing the old inefficient lighting technology which rated itself out because its extremely negative side effects.

In the coming years it will become an important aim how to optimize energy consumption aroused from lighting and not at least contributing in reducing the CO2 emissions.

Leading industrial nations already committed themselves to undertake first steps into the right direction. However the EU cannot force the market to use latest technology, but the significant advantages of LEDs speak for themselves. Responsible use of resources, avoidance of nuclear waste, reduction of harmful materials and the higher life span of LEDs are among the important factors and are often selection criteria.

If only Germany with approximately 82 million inhabitants would replace conventional lighting into energysaving LEDs, the saving in power could supply a million households.
