Carclo Technical Plastics has developed a new modular optical system that, meets the full European ME3a Class Street Lighting specification This new, flexible, modular concept uses a combination of optic and reflector to meet the challenges of providing a versatile solution for a variety of road geometries and light output characteristics. A high performance optic is employed to control the light distribution along the road while a state-of-the-art reflector controls the light distribution across the road.

Carclo Technical Plastics releases a new range of 30 mm TIR optics for use with a range of large dome, multi-chip LED’s. The 30 mm optic works well with single-chip LED packages providing high peak intensities or narrow beam divergences compared to smaller diameter optics. The optic is now available in a wide range of beam angles: narrow, fine-frosted, medium-frosted, wide-frosted and elliptical. The dynamic design behind this particular innovative product, embraces an Advanced Transform lens design combined with frosted optic technology to effectively minimize any chip-image or color-separation effects, along with high optical efficiency.

Carclo has taken its high efficiency 10 mm TIR optical design cross-section and extruded it to produce a revolutionary optical component. This optic can be used to collect light from a long strip of LEDs and project at a 30 degree beam in one direction. Designers and Engineers can use this illumination for applications such as under cabinet lighting, wall washing, corridor or other interior or architectural lighting applications. The optic is over 75 % efficient and is designed to give a high light output using compact LEDs such as the Cree XP-E. We offer two standard lengths, part no.10397 which is 1200 mm long and part number 10398, which is 300 mm long. Other custom lengths up to 2 metres are available on request.
